Solemn/Sung Morning Prayer for Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday Morning Prayer

I may have (probably did) overdid the incense. My condo is very very smokey right now. Thanks to the Choirs of Westminster Abbey, King’s College (Cambridge), Gloucester Cathedral, and Guildford Cathedral for making today’s Easter service special, I could have been in an English cathedral and not known the difference. 🎼🎶🎵 📖🛐.

The Lord is risen indeed. Hallelujah!

Almighty God, on this most blessed Easter Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of thy Son, Jesus Christ. We continue to pray today for all those who have been affected by the COVID-19, especially for the sick (including our friend Tim), the vulnerable, the fearful, all healthcare workers, essential workers, the unemployed, and all others who are affected by this plague. We also pray for our Sovereign Lady, Elizabeth, all her Governments, and her armed forces, that they be granted the necessary wisdom, resources, and power to overcome this plague and maintain peace and order throughout her dominions. We pray that we no longer need to live in fear, uncertainty, and anxiety, that you make grant is peace, love, and hope; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Almighty God, who through thine only-begotten Son Jesus Christ hast overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life: We humbly beseech thee, that as by thy special grace thou dost put into our minds good desires, so by thy continual help we may bring the same to good effect; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
