Morning Prayer for the Third Sunday after Trinity (Trinity 3), in the Octave of St John the Baptist, and the Sixteenth Sunday in COVIDtide

God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God in him.

Collect of the Day: O Lord, we beseech thee mercifully to hear us; and grant that we, to whom thou hast given an hearty desire to pray, may by thy mighty aid be defended and comforted in all dangers and adversities; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We pray for all peoples of our communities, that we may build bridges of peace and understanding, not walls of distrust and hatred. We pray that people remain considerate that while life may appear to be returning to normal, the deadly pandemic remains among us and we must continue to be vigilant and do our communal duties to minimize the risk of spreading this deadly plague, especially to those at higher risk.

On this anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, we pray for all LGBTQ+ persons, that they may experience the love of Christ like any other persons, without fear of persecution, discrimination, or hatred, that all peoples can live fully in your love, without need to hide who they truly are, especially by those and to those that follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We pray for Capt Kevin Hagen, Capt Brenden MacDonald, Capt Maxime Miron-Morin, SLt Matthew Pyke, and MCpl Matthew Cousins that they may be at peace, having come finally home. Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them. And we pray for their families and loved ones, that they may find some closure and peace, and the pains of loss lessen with each day; through Jesus Christ, our saviour and mediator. Amen.

Morning Prayer for the Second Sunday after Trinity (Trinity 2) and the Fifteenth Sunday in COVIDtide

God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God in him.

Collect of the Day: O Lord, who never failest to help and govern them whom thou dost bring up in thy stedfast fear and love: Keep us, we beseech thee, under the protection of thy good providence, and make us to have a perpetual fear and love of thy holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Morning Prayer for the First Sunday after Trinity (Trinity 1) and the Fourteenth Sunday in COVIDtide

God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God in him.

Collect of the Day: O God, the strength of all them that put their trust in thee: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace, that in keeping of thy commandments we may please thee both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Solemn Morning Prayer for Octave of Pentecost, commonly called Trinity Sunday and the Thirteenth Sunday in COVIDtide

Now begins Trinity season, letโ€™s hope COVIDtide ends before the end of this season, because the season after Trinity is Advent.

Special thanks to the Choirs of Kingโ€™s College, Cambridge and Wakefield Cathedral for the music today.

God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God in him.

Collect of the Day: Almighty and everlasting God, who hast it given unto us thy servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of the Divine Majesty to worship the Unity: We beseech thee, that this holy faith may evermore be our defence against all adversities; who livest and reignest, one God, world without end. Amen.

Hymn: Book of Common Praise: 1: Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord God Almighty! (Nicaea)

Almighty God, on this Trinity Sunday, we pray for peace in the world and we pray for love; we pray for the sick, the healers, the oppressed, the fearful, the sorrowful, and all those who need prayer. Deliver us from famine, plague, fear, hatred, and other evils; grant those in authority wisdom and good judgement, and preserve and protect us from the dangers and uncertainty before us; through the love of the Father, the grace of the Son, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost; the mystery that is three persons, one God. Amen.
