Morning Prayer for the Sunday After Ascension Day and the Eleventh Sunday in COVIDtide

Seeing that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Collect of the Day: O God the King of Glory, who hast exalted thine only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven: We beseech thee, leave us not comfortless; but send to us thine Holy Ghost to comfort us, and exalt us unto the same place whither our Saviour Christ is gone before; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

My our prayers ascend to God like the smoke of the burning incense.

Today we pray for Capt Casey as she returns to Halifax for the final time; we pray for the departed crew of Stalker, and all those taken from us by sickness; rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord: and let light perpetual shine upon them.

We pray for the families and friends of the grieving, may they be given strength and steadfastness during these times.

We pray for Nova Scotia, for Canada, for the world, and for all the peoples; for the healthy and sick, that as restrictions continue to be lifted, we may all be prudent and work together to limit the spread of this coronavirus, and finally overcome this pandemic; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
