Morning Prayer for the Day of Pentecost, being the Fiftieth Day after Easter, commonly called Whitsunday and the Twelfth Sunday in COVIDtide

The love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.

Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Collect of the Day: God, who as at this time didst teach the hearts of thy faithful people, by the sending to them the light of thy Holy Spirit: Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgement in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

O God, who makest us glad with the yearly remembrance of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon thy disciples in Jerusalem: Grant that we who celebrate before thee the Feast of Pentecost may continue thine for ever, and daily increase in thy Holy Spirit, until we come to thine eternal kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst say unto thine Apostles, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: Regard not our sins, but the faith of thy Church, and grant unto it that peace and unity which is agreeable to thy will; who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

We pray for the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts and minds on this Day of Pentecost, that we my all show understanding each other despite our differences. We for the sick, the healers, and the fearful. We pray for an end to the violence and chaos in this world, especially in the United States and Hong Kong. We pray for restraint on both sides, that people can come together and work out their differences and grievances through words and peace.

We pray for the dead, all those taken from us; rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord: and let light perpetual shine upon them. We pray for the families and friends of the grieving. We pray for all those who need our prayers. O God, hear our prayers

through the the love of the Father, the grace of the Son, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
