Solemn Morning Prayer for Octave of Pentecost, commonly called Trinity Sunday and the Thirteenth Sunday in COVIDtide

Now begins Trinity season, let’s hope COVIDtide ends before the end of this season, because the season after Trinity is Advent.

Special thanks to the Choirs of King’s College, Cambridge and Wakefield Cathedral for the music today.

God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God in him.

Collect of the Day: Almighty and everlasting God, who hast it given unto us thy servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of the Divine Majesty to worship the Unity: We beseech thee, that this holy faith may evermore be our defence against all adversities; who livest and reignest, one God, world without end. Amen.

Hymn: Book of Common Praise: 1: Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord God Almighty! (Nicaea)

Almighty God, on this Trinity Sunday, we pray for peace in the world and we pray for love; we pray for the sick, the healers, the oppressed, the fearful, the sorrowful, and all those who need prayer. Deliver us from famine, plague, fear, hatred, and other evils; grant those in authority wisdom and good judgement, and preserve and protect us from the dangers and uncertainty before us; through the love of the Father, the grace of the Son, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost; the mystery that is three persons, one God. Amen.
